You want more than another assembly.

Your calendar is full, your students have a hundred things pulling at their attention, and Literacy Week comes around fast. You need a guest who gets kids excited about books and gives them words for big feelings, without adding more work to your plate.

Gratitude Poetry Workshop

What Your Students Walk Away With

Students read The Grateful Giraffes together, then choose a way to put their own gratitude into words. The workshop adapts to any age or grade.

  • Write a Thank-You Poem

Your students brainstorm who and what they're grateful for, write a first draft, and share it with the group.

  • Create a Thank-You Card

Your students pair drawings with their own words to thank someone who matters to them.

  • Write Appreciation Song Lyrics

Your students use their senses, rhythm, and repetition to turn appreciation into a song.

How It Works

Three Simple Steps

  1. 1

    Book a call.

Tell Macarena about your students, your event, and your date.

  2. 2

    Plan the visit.

Choose the book, the workshop activity, and whether the visit is in English or Spanish, in person or virtual.

  3. 3

    Watch them shine.

Your students leave with a story they love and words of their own to share.

For Parents and Educators

Meet The Grateful Giraffes

Each book pairs a poem with coloring and activity pages, so children can read it, color it, and make it their own. Every Grateful Giraffes book comes in English and has a Spanish edition.

Interested in a Grateful Giraffes book club for your class or library? Let Macarena know when you book your call.

Help every child find the words for what they feel.

Don't let another Literacy Week go by with a speaker your students forget by lunch. Bring Macarena to your school, library, or youth program, and send children home with a book they love and a habit of noticing the good.
